The work to be completed this summer includes replacement of sections in red, partial replacement of yellow sections, replacement of roof and flashing on the stair towers, and repair of front siding, doors and trim.

How did we span nearly 40 feet of 12×12 vertical post?

Two sections – one with double bladed scarf joints rotated 90 degrees for added stability.

This is the first section that was placed at the top of the left tower post between original construction and the second section, which runs down to the sill.
